The agreement also includes the Cosentia Itinera multimedia museum of the Attilio and Elena Giuliani Foundation, the Diocesan Museum of Cosenza pertaining to the competences of the Cosenza-Bisignano Archdiocese, the Comics Museum of the Cooperative Society Cluster, as well as, obviously, the National Gallery of Cosenza housed in Palazzo Arnone, the Brettii and Enotri Museum, the MAB and the Castello Svevo, the Museum of the Present, the Museum Civic of Palazzo Zagarese, the Museum of Contemporary Art “Roberto Bilotti Ruggi D’Aragona – Castello di Rende, MAR- and the Museum System of the University of Calabria. The objective is the organizational and virtual connection of the Museums and the growth of their image and authority in public opinion.
“With this important agreement – declares Dr. Fabrizio Sudano, director of the DRMN Calabria – we continue apace in our commitment to promote a shared project of valorisation and enjoyment of the extraordinary cultural heritage of the region, already started with the creation of the integrated ticket involving the DRMN Calabria and the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria. The valorisation agreement just signed represents a further step in this sense, especially as regards the urban area of the cities of Cosenza and Rende. In particular, it allows us to network, to define the areas of collaboration and the planning of shared actions between the parties and, at the same time, to guarantee a concrete improvement in the management and use of the museums present in the area, in the knowledge that the enormous amount of cultural heritage of this region deserves to be increasingly known and appreciated, even outside the national context”.
“The signing of the agreement comes following a complex and detailed work made possible thanks to the regional management of the national museums of Calabria, which I thank, recognizing that the act constitutes the completion of a process aimed at launching a new phase of programming and future collaborations for the strengthening of the museum structures and the cultural proposal that it offers”. This is what the mayor of Cosenza, Franz Caruso states, who continues: “The act is full of meaning and through it it will be possible to increase and intensify the synergies between the Museums of the city of Cosenza, the city of Rende and the University of Calabria, with a view to integrating services whose effects will be available to that vast, metropolitan urban area, to which we look for shared and concrete growth. I have always been convinced, in fact, that the cultural development of the Cosenza community must be seen in a broader perspective of the role of an open and inclusive provincial capital city that Cosenza is and represents”.
