It was Calabria, and precisely Lamezia Terme, who started the electoral campaign for the renewal of unitary union representatives (RSU) in the school sector and the entire public employment of the Cisalwhich together with the Federations of the Anief (School) and CSA (local authorities) category presents itself at the strong return of the results achieved in the previous round in which the seats outgoing in the area were even tripled.
The event, which saw the participation of delegates from every corner of the region, was characterized by the presence of the leaders of the first Italian autonomous union: the general secretary Francesco Cavallaro and confederal secretaries Massimo Blasi and Marcello Pacifico.
During the meeting, Secretary General Cavallaro strongly underlined the strategic role of the RSU, calling them “a powerful and concrete tool” through which workers can make their voices heard. “Cisal presents itself to these elections with renewed enthusiasm and with the strength of the results achieved,” said Cavallaro, highlighting how, in an era of profound transformation of the world of work, the role of the RSU becomes even more decisive.
The intervention of the Confederal Secretary Cisal and President Anief, Marcello Pacifico, who has outlined concrete goals for the future of the school, is particularly significant. Among these, the introduction of a specific allowance for school staff, the recognition of the burn-out, and specific measures for commuters. “From Calabria a message of change starts,” said Pacifico, “which through Anief and Cisal will reach all of Italy, to bring candidates to the elections capable of concretely transforming working conditions in the school sector.”
The confederal secretary of Cisal Massimo Blasi instead has placed the emphasis on the challenges that await local authorities and the public employment, from the digitization of services to the implementation of the PNRR, underlining how the RSU represent a fundamental garrison of democracy in the workplace.
The elections, scheduled for 14, 15 and 16 April 2025, will represent a decisive moment for the future of bargaining in the public employment. The appeal launched by Calabria is clear: to participate actively, both as candidates and as voters, to be the protagonists of a concrete change in working conditions and in the quality of the services offered to citizens.
The meeting of Lamezia Terme thus marks the beginning of a path that will see the Cisal, through its Federations of Anief (School) and CSA (local authorities) category, engaged in a widespread countryside throughout the national territory, with the aim to strengthen trade union representation and concretely improve the conditions of public employment workers.
