Under the banner of sport and solidarity, over 700, even from outside the region, took part in the VII edition of the Philadelphia Stracittadina: 98 registered for the 10 km Fidal competitive race; 224 in the non-competitive 4km and 390 beginners, boys and cadets.
On the men’s podium of the competition: Antonino Maggisano, first classified; Antonio Schipilliti, second; Giovandomenico Dastoli, third. Competitive female: Giulia Romeo, before; Sabrina Gioberti, second; Cristina Contartese, third. Men’s non-competitive: first, Francesco Serratore; second, Mario Virgil; third, Pietro Paolo Raffaele. Non-competitive female: first, Sara Bilotta; second, Serena Pellegrino; third, Barbara Paonessa.

As in previous editions, also this year, the entire proceeds from registrations will be donated to the “Gene” Federation of the “Gemelli” Polyclinic in Rome. «This initiative is particularly relevant for us – says the deputy head of the pediatric neurosurgery department of the “Gemelli”, Luca Massimi – first of all for the breath of optimism it brings and which gives that enthusiasm that has the flavor of hope. Furthermore, because it will give us the opportunity to purchase innovative and important operating room instruments».
Extraordinary participation of sportsmen and not, who responded to the appeal of the “Corri Filadelfia” Committee, led by Davide Giampà, and of the Asd Martesana Corse, chaired by Maurizio Anello, organizers of the event, supported by the Municipality and the Anania Pharmacy as title sponsor.

“The presence of so many people surprised and moved us at the same time – underlines Giampà – the warmth of the public was tangible and fundamental for us”. The multi-champion Maurizio Leone was also present at the Stracittadina: «An event made with the heart. When sport is linked to solidarity, one is victorious right from the start. I hope that this race can grow more and more».
