The Castrovillari Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened a file on the road accident in which, this morning, two twenty-year-olds, Chiara Garofalo and Antonio Graziadio, died in Sibari, and four other people were injured, two of whom, a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old, seriously.
The bodies of the victims were transported to the Cassano allo Ionio morgue and in the next few hours the magistrate will decide whether to authorize their return to the families or whether to order an autopsy. The other two injured boys were transported to Cosenza hospital where they are hospitalized with a guarded prognosis. The two men who were traveling on board the Mito were taken to the Corigliano-Rossano hospital and are not in serious condition.
According to an initial reconstruction, the Alfa Romeo Mito, with two men on board, came from Corigliano-Rossano and was turning to go towards state road 534, while the Panda with the 4 young men on board came from Sibari and was going towards Corigliano-Rossano. The impact, from the first findings, would have been frontal. The dynamics of the accident are being ascertained by the Carabinieri of the Cassano allo Ionio Company who, together with the firefighters and medical workers, intervened on site. Chiara helped her parents in the family-owned bakery, while Antonio was an electrician.
