Oussama Essabr has put his boots aside for five years now. During his career as a footballer he gained experience with the shirts of Cosenza, Crotone and Vigor Lamezia. A passage in Calabria that left its mark on him. Also for this reason, a few years ago he returned to a land that now feels like him. A pinch of regret but the determination to relaunch under another guise: «Unfortunately, multiple injuries have affected my path at certain levels. I decided to stop when my career took a downward direction. I took advantage of it to study, train and develop new skills, both technical and managerial. The pride remains for the victory of the Supercoppa Primavera with Juventus, in Milan, against Inter, and the call-up to the Moroccan national team”, explains the 34-year-old from Tiddas.
The present led him to live new professional experiences in the football field. He has recently completed the scholarship made available by the Aic and is waiting for a call: «I am waiting for an opportunity in a technical-management staff to give my contribution from a soul-motivational point of view. Today he has become a fundamental component in the team’s performance. In modern football there is a flattening of general, physical, technical and tactical values.”
Essabr follows Serie B with a careful eye: «In Europe there are few championships as competitive as this. Every year it is difficult to make predictions. Uncertainty raises the level of the show. Cosenza and Catanzaro started excellently. They have teams that are different from each other but can play an important role. However, the ambitions of both will be understood in February. The winter transfer market will be another crucial point.”
Finally, he identifies two profiles with important potential: «I mention the names of Zuccon and Katseris. The Cosenza midfielder is a modern player with enormous potential. He can have a great career. The Greek surprised me with his aerobic abilities and technical cleanliness in the attacking phase. He has ample room for improvement.”
