The metropolitan mayor of Reggio Calabria, Giuseppe Falcomatàreceived today at Palazzo Alvaro, the Consul General of Romania in Bari, Ioana Gheorghias, visiting the Reggio area.
The meeting which took place in the representative hall of the ‘Monsignor Ferro’ organization concerned various topics, especially relating to possible cultural and artistic exchange activities. The Romanian community represents one of the most active and present in the Reggio area, an element highlighted by the two institutional representatives.
Mayor Falcomatà recalled the commitment of the Reggio authorities, for example the municipal one, to redevelop the area adjacent to the Orthodox church of San Paolo dei Greci, which will become a place of well-being and free time for all citizens.
At the same time, the metropolitan mayor hoped for ever greater and fruitful integration by the Romanian community, to be started with twinning projects, on the model also adopted for other European countries.
