“Differentiated autonomy is a fascist norm like any law that undermines democracy, rights and equality between people. Things must be called by their name and we must continue to build an alternative program and coalition to the right-wing governments of the Region and the Country”. The metropolitan mayor, Joseph Falcomataa guest in Bagnara at the provincial party of the Democratic Party, does not mince his words in dismantling the “Calderoli reform” and uses tones as if he were already a candidate for governor of Calabria: “It is an agreement between parties played on the skin of Italy and the future of citizens. The Government is in charge of these things and we cannot accept that the President of the Calabria Region, after having voted yes to differentiated autonomy in the State-Regions Conference, expresses doubts when the law has already been approved. If he had doubts, he could and should have expressed them in the right place, fully carrying out the institutional role of defense of the territory of which he has the honor of being President. He did not do so. Indeed, he even backed away from the possibility of challenging the law together with other Presidents of the Region. I do not believe that the Calabrians can continue to be fooled. The Calabria Region has many problems that differentiated regionalism will exacerbate”.
