The municipal administration of Catanzaro, through the social policies sector, continues its commitment to promoting digital inclusion with the project “Network of digital facilitation services”, financed as part of the 1,7.2 measure of the national recovery and resilience plan (PNRR).

Active for several months in the territory of the social territorial area of Catanzaro, the project provides for the construction of 9 digital facilitation centers, located in the municipalities of the scope, thanks to a total funding of 397,051.29 euros.

This initiative, supported by the Calabria Region, aims to provide support and digital basic skills to citizens with low technological literacy, favoring autonomous access to public and private services online. Each center can count on a contribution of 44,116.81 euros and will have to conclude the activities by 31 December 2025, except for extensions.

The third sector entities involved in the realization of the activities, selected through a co-planning process, are:

APS Geneva

ACLI Circolo Città del Vento

APS Anteas

Association of Volunteer Community SS. Pietro and Paolo

Avis Provincial of Catanzaro

APS A ‘Filanda

ODV Open space

In Fundanedda

Arci Catanzaro

Three service levels will be guaranteed in digital facilitation centers:

Personalized individual assistance, to support the user in the use of smartphones, computers and digital services;

Online training, also in asynchronous or autonomous mode;

Micro-coarse in groups, in the presence or distance, for practical insights.

The project is aimed at all citizens over 18 with little familiarity with digital, with particular attention to unemployed, the elderly, foreign residents, people with no title of study and inhabitants of the internal areas. The goal is to fill the digital gap and guarantee digital citizenship active to everyone.

“With the consolidation of this network, the municipal administration strengthens its commitment to a more equitable and digital company – declares the councilor for social policies, Nunzio Belcaro – Access to digital skills is not only an opportunity, but a right that allows citizens to fully participate in social, economic and institutional life. “
