The Municipality of Reggio Calabria mourns the passing of Pierluigi D’Apicefrom Messina, appreciated manager of the tax sector. D’Apice was 53 years old and leaves behind a wife and two children. He had recently won a competition for ministerial director. Among his passions are also athletics and in particular road running.
His passing leaves a sad void in those who knew him, as demonstrated by the heartfelt condolences of his former high school classmates, fifth B of the Seguenza high school in 1989: “We are losing a point of reference, a friend and a brother. A pain for us unbridgeable” remember the friends. The funeral took place today in the parish of the Sacred Heart of RC.
The news of his death was spread by the mayor Giuseppe Falcomatàwho wanted to pay tribute to him with a touching message on social media. «Dear Pierluigi, this photo, taken a few months ago, takes us back to the presentation of the tender for exemptions from the Tari, a project that you followed with great passion and which represents one of the last testimonies of your tireless commitment to the service of the Administration and the our community.
You were an exemplary manager and official, always appreciated for your kindness, your seriousness, your precision and the dedication with which you carried out your work. Your family, your children, are and will always be proud of you, a professional of great value who has never stopped growing, learning and giving his all for the city. For you, work was not simply a task, but a real vocation.”
The mayor concluded: «Just now, when you had reached such a well-deserved professional goal, this cruel fate put you in front of the toughest challenge, one that no commitment, no matter how great, can overcome. Yet, you never gave up, you fought until the end, supported by the affection of your loved ones. You are an example for all of us, for your children and for the city. Reggio Calabria will never forget you, Pierluigi. We will miss you.”
