The Prefect of Cosenza, Rosa Maria Padovano, has ordered the suspension of the Carolei municipal council. The measure was adopted following the simultaneous resignation of half plus one of the city councilors, resigned and registered today. This situation integrated the case envisaged by article 141, paragraph 1, letter b), point 3) of Legislative Decree 18 August 2000, n. 267.
Considering the reasons of serious and urgent need linked to the impossibility of guaranteeing the normal functioning of the elective bodies, the Prefect has entrusted the temporary management of the Institution to Dr. Elvira Paola Petrelli, deputy vice-prefect serving at the Prefecture. Dr. Petrelli was granted all the powers of the mayor, the Council and the Municipal Council.
