The unions: Tim denies smart working in Calabria despite the red alert

«Today and tomorrow, a red alert for severe bad weather was issued by the Civil Protection, where citizens are invited to stay at home by the institutions. Tim takes an irresponsible attitude, denying the possibility of carrying out the activity in smart working. This is despite the agreements in force providing for the possibility of using it precisely in these extraordinary situations.” This is what we read in a note released by the secretariat of Slc Cgil Calabria.

«We strongly stigmatize behavior that ignores common sense and social responsibility. In emergency situations – underlines the union – the safety of people must come before any other consideration”.

The position of the Ugl: “The agreement on agile working has been violated”

Along the same lines is the UGL which «with deep regret stigmatizes the decision taken by Tim to deny Calabria employees the possibility of resorting to the agile working system, foreseen and regulated by an agreement signed with the trade unions. This agreement, in fact, in article 16 expressly provides that, in the presence of exceptional weather events, the company can authorize its workers to carry out the activity remotely, a measure which in this case would have been not only appropriate but also necessary”.

Critical issues and red alert in the Calabrian provinces

The Ugl speaks of an “incomprehensible decision, especially in light of the climate emergency which for two days has been creating serious critical issues in the provinces of Catanzaro and Reggio Calabria, keeping the population in a state of strong apprehension”.
