Several municipalities in the province of Catanzaro are facing significant inconvenience due to interruptions in water supply, due to a serious theft of electric cables at the “Low Ancinale” Campo Pozzi system. The situation led Sorical Spa to communicate urgent updates to citizens and local administrations.
The stop of the “Basso Ancinale” Pozzi plant was caused, as reported by Sorical in a communication dated 28 June 2025, by an “important theft of electrical cables, which feed, from the cabin of the general paintings, the lifting pumps of 8 wells”. Immediately, the technical teams of Sorical and maintenance companies intervened to solve the problem, with the aim of restoring the service as soon as the works are completed.
Sorical’s note, signed by Eng. Luca CrispinoHead of Water District N.5 – Catanzaro, underlines that the less damaged wells and with greater supply capacity will be used to distribute water as soon as possible, already in the early hours of the afternoon.
In consideration of the seriousness of the situation, Sorical has issued an appeal to the administrations of the municipalities concerned so that they invite the population to an extremely thrifty use of the water resource, limiting it to only hygienic-health and drinking use. The collaboration of citizens is essential to better manage this emergency phase.
The municipalities directly affected by the interruption include: Sant’Andrea dello Ionio, San Supporte, Davoli, Satriano, Soverato, Montepaone, Gasperina, Montauro and Stalettì. The communication was also sent to the prefecture of Catanzaro for knowledge and coordination.
Sorical Spa has ensured its availability for any further clarifications, also through the short press releases. The technical teams are at work incessantly to restore normality in the shortest possible time.
