Tim Robbins, Oscar winner in 2004 as best supporting actor for his performance in «Mystic River», by Clint Eastwood, will be a guest in Catanzaro at the next edition of the «Magna Graecia film festival»scheduled from 27 July to 3 August and of which Gianvito Casadonte is the founder and artistic director.
The mayor of the Calabrian capital announced it on social media, Nicola Fiorita. «From the stage of the Oscar awards – writes Fiorita – to the port of Catanzaro. Thanks to the Magna Graecia Film Festival another dream comes true. The gallery of Hollywood stars who have graced the stage of our city is enriched by another exceptional name, the actor and director Tim Robbins. The protagonist of cult films, such as 'The Shawshank Redemption' and 'Mystic River', will be in Catanzaro on August 2nd. A unique opportunity to also discover his lesser-known profile as a singer and musician, together with 'The Rogues gallery band', on a journey to the roots of American tradition. An extraordinary concert-event that will be at the center of the event directed by Gianvito Casadonte, who every year gives us many emotions and surprises, projecting Catanzaro and Calabria into the Olympus of cinema.” «It is a great satisfaction – Casadonte tells ANSA – to know that Tim Robbis, one of my favorite actors, will come to visit us during the Magna Grecia film festival. It will be an opportunity to celebrate 'Mistic River', which turns 20, and «The Wings of Freedom', which turns 30. And we will have the chance to attend a wonderful concert by Tim on August 2nd in Catanzaro in the area of port”.
