Filippo Ganna is the first runner to retire from the Tour de France 2025 at the start today. The French race for the blue of the Ineos Grenadiers ended after about 50 km from the start, following one fall.
Filippo Ganna is forced to retire following a bad fall suffered in the initial kilometers of the first stage of the Grande Boucle, Lille – Lille of 184.9 km. The Italian runner, after recovering two minutes late to return to the group, had to surrender to the physical pain consequent to the hard impact with the asphalt, leaving the already not very nourished blue expedition.
