Anthony Turgis wins the ninth stage of the 2024 Tour de France, the 199-kilometer Troyes-Troyes with sections on dirt. After a series of sprints, breakaways and counterattacks, the 30-year-old French rider beat the British Tom Pidcock (Ineos) and the Canadian Derek Gee (Israel-Premier Tech) in the sprint. Third French victory in the Grande Boucle, nothing changes in the general classification, with the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar (Uae Team Emirates) who retains the yellow leader’s jersey ahead of Belgian Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step) and Danish and two-time defending champion Jonas Vingegaard (Team Visma-Lease a Bike). Tomorrow is the first day of rest, then the race will start again on Tuesday with the tenth stage, the 187-kilometer Orleans-Saint Armand-Montrond.
