Due to the strong wind, two people, father and daughter, residents of Bolzano, fell paragliding onto scaffolding of the former “Le Cupole” nightclub late this morning. The two injured are tourists who arrived in Sicily from Trentino Alto Adige. They were rescued by a fire brigade team from the Milazzo detachment. After securing them on stretchers, they were transported to a safe place and entrusted to the medical staff who arrived on site with two ambulances for initial treatment. The father was transported to the Milazzo hospital with an ambulance while for the daughter, given the serious injuries on her body, the 118 air ambulance was chosen to admit her to the Messina polyclinic.

The father, Marcus Florian, 57 years old from Bolzanodied in the afternoon of cardiac arrest. He was on holiday in Milazzo with a group of friends. The 30-year-old daughter, also involved in the accident which occurred around 1.30 pm, was transferred by air ambulance to the Messina Polyclinic after being intubated.

The girl is in a reserved prognosis and will most likely have to undergo an operation for the fractures reported. His picture is, however, very unstable.
