Signs of normalization but also the persistence of critical issues. This, in summary, is the picture that emerged from the reports of the Court of Auditors in the evaluation of the 2024 financial statements of the Calabria Region. An “extraordinary” result was recorded with the entire deficit being eliminated and even a surplus of the available part amounting to 57,843,127.64 euros, which means a consistent availability of resources to be allocated to the satisfaction of collective needs and investments. A fact that had never been recorded. However, the president of the control section Rossella Scerbo explained that «the reduction of the deficit is not directly attributable to virtuous management behavior in terms of increased revenue or reduction in spending but to the positive impact of regulatory provisions».
