A wonderful two days, in the name of brotherhood between peoples and aimed above all at the protection of our Arbëreshë roots, represented by the Calabrian community of the province of Cosenza which is the largest in Italy.
«The parade of over ten thousand people, paraded in front of us Calabrian administrators, was extraordinary and unforgettable, especially in honor of the Arbëreshë Mayors whom I thank for the attachment they have once again shown to the Arbëria; thanks also to the provincial delegate for the linguistic minorities of the Province of Cosenza, Ferdinando Nocitialso present in Tirana” – commented President Succurro.
The parade, which brought together citizens, representatives of institutions and members of the Arbëreshë diaspora, offered a show of colours, traditional dances and songs, underlining the unity and solidarity between peoples. The participants paraded through the streets of Tirana, bringing with them the symbols of their traditions and cultures, in an atmosphere of celebration and sharing.
The Cosenza delegation was a welcome guest of the Mayor of Tirana, «who welcomed us with great views, with him we talked about intensifying the relations between the Province of Cosenza and the City of Tirana which have already been in place for a few years with the Premier, the Prime Minister Edi Rama and with the President of the Republic who honored us with a visit. Let us therefore consolidate relations between Calabria, especially the Province of Cosenza and the Albanian countries” – added President Succurro.
