Who will make the synthesis in the centre-left? Will the indications come from Rome and Palermo or will the decision be made in Messina? These are the questions that precede and accompany today’s meeting of the coalition table, called to choose the name of those who will compete in the difficult challenge of the next administration. There are two candidates already certain, the outgoing mayor Federico Basile, obviously supported by Cateno De Luca and from the South calls North, with the many lists pre-announced for the City Council and for the six Municipalities; and the lawyer Marcello Scurria, the founder of the civic movement Partecipazione, who takes the field in the name and on behalf of all the centre-right parties. Then there are other names, such as that of the hairdresser Lillo Valvieri or possible last-minute outsiders. The centre-left piece is missing.
And to broaden the range of options, here is another name officially proposed to the table: that of Messina senator Dafne Musolino. The former councilor De Luca joins the other possible candidates, from Alessandro Russo and Antonella Russo of the Democratic Party to Paolo Todaro, a Uil trade unionist proposed by Europa Verde and Sinistra, with the full consent of Ismaele La Vardera’s Countercurrent movement. For the 5 Stars, the name of another parliamentarian from Messina was mentioned, Barbara Floridia, president of the Rai Supervisory Commission.
