Another broken life, another road tragedy. It happened last night on the A20 Messina-Palermo motorway. A 40 year old woman, Milena Paratore from Oliveri, lost his life in an accident that occurred between the Giostra and Boccetta motorway junctions, in the direction of Messina. The accident occurred around 10pm, near the Trapani stream, at kilometer 10+800.
According to what has been reconstructed so far, the car in which the woman was traveling together with two other people suddenly went off the road. It would have overturned and ended up on an embankment next to the guardrail, right under the directional sign. In the meantime the alarm was raised and emergency services were requested. Traffic police officers arrived on site and a fire brigade team also intervened.
Unfortunately, there was nothing that could be done for the woman despite the arrival of the 118 ambulance rescuers, she would have died instantly from the terrible crash. Only bruises instead for the other two occupants of the car, rescued by the 118. It will now be up to the Traffic Police officers to clarify the causes of the accident. The investigations, on the stretch of motorway affected by the accident, continued until late at night. A tragedy within a tragedy for the family, given that Milena’s mother had died just a month ago.
