A tragic accident occurred late in the evening of Sunday 11 May 2025 on the Mediterranean A2 motorway, in the stretch between the junctions of Contursi Terme and Sicignano degli Alburni, in the province of Salerno. A motorcyclist, a man of about 50 years originally from Cosenza, lost his life after crashing with his large -displacement motorcycle.
According to a first reconstruction, the centaur would have lost control of the vehicle for reasons still in the assessment phase. The 118 health workers, the agents of the Traffic Police and the Anas technicians attended the scene of the accident. The man was urgently transported to the Oliveto Citra hospital, where he died in the night due to the serious injuries sustained.
The traffic police started investigations to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the accident, carrying out the reliefs and collecting the first testimonies. It is not excluded that images from video surveillance systems present in the area can also be acquired, useful to shed light on the incident.
