Trump is in Asia, working towards a trade deal with China

US President Donald Trump has landed in Malaysia, the first stop on his Asian tour. The tycoon will stay for one day during which he will take part in the summit of ASEAN leaders, in view of the meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea in the next few days.

Trump presided over the signing of the ceasefire agreement between Thailand and Cambodia. The agreement was signed by the Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and the Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, together with the American President and the Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

Trade agreement with China

And, from Malaysia, comes the announcement from Jamieson Greer, US trade representative on the upcoming trade agreement between the United States and China. “We are finalizing the final details of the agreement for the executives to review,” he said ahead of the highly anticipated meeting between Trump and Xi Jinping in South Korea.
