Donald Trump returns to threaten Cuba. “For many years Cuba – he writes on Thruth – has lived thanks to the huge quantities of oil and money coming from Venezuela. In exchange, Cuba provided ‘security services’ to the last two Venezuelan dictators, but not anymore! Venezuela now has the USA, the most powerful army in the world (by far!), to protect it, and we will protect it. There will be no more oil or money for Cuba – zero! I strongly recommend reaching an agreement, before it is too late.”
The reply
The government of Cuba responded through the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez, to Trump’s threat by underlining that Cuba “does not receive, nor has it ever received, monetary or material compensation for security services provided to any country” and that “unlike the USA”, it does not have “a government that engages in mercenary activities, blackmail or military coercion against other states”. The post concludes by stating that “law and justice are on Cuba’s side” and that “the US is behaving like a criminal and uncontrolled hegemon that threatens peace and security, not only in Cuba and this hemisphere, but throughout the world.”
