Dea.med Net was born from the collaboration between the University of Messina (Department of Law “Salvatore Pugliatti”), the Sicilian Region (Department of Tourism, Sport and Entertainment) and Ada Communication. The selection within the Changes-Crest program, which sees the partnership of 25 excellent bodies under the coordination of the Ca ‘Foscari Venice University, represents an important recognition for the research team. Changes, financed by the European Union through Nextgenerazionau and developed with the Ministry of the University and Research in the field of the Italiadomani Plan, aims to renew the relationship between cultural heritage, tourism and active citizenship.
The Pnrr Changes-Crest representsas pointed out by prof. Francesco Astone, A concrete tool to modernize the Italian cultural sector through the European funds of the Recovery Plan. Dea.Med.net places the creation of a digital community at the center of its strategy, with the aim, reiterated by Prof. Anna Romeo, to develop innovative technical-legal tools and explore governance models based on the collaboration between territorial bodies and private subjects. The approach of the balance project, in fact, the potential of digitization with the needs of local communities, redefining, as highlighted by Prof. Vittoria Berlingò, The concept of Citizen Science from didactic tool to participatory process that actively enhances the contribution of citizens. This methodology promotes a balance between conservation, sustainable tourism development and community participation, welcoming unconventional interpretations of cultural heritage. Through the involvement of local mediators and attention to territorial dynamics, Dea.med.net intends to developand, according to what was highlighted by Dr. Rosalia d’Alì, A replicable management model. Starting from Sicily as a pilot area, the project aims, in fact, to define practices implemented in other Italian regions, consolidating the position of the country in cultural innovation, in line with the sustainability objectives promoted by the Nextgeneration Plan.
