The days of mobilization. The December 1st referendum on the merger is approaching and political forces such as associations and committees are taking action.
“Yes to the great single city”: this is the theme of the conference organized by Nazione Futura which will be held on Saturday at 4.30pm at the Italiana Hotel in via Panebianco. After the introductions of the head of the territorial club, Vincenzo Campanella, and the president of the “Yes Committee”, Antonino Scavelli, parliamentarians will intervene Mario Occhiuto, Simona Loizzo, Fausto Orsomarso and Alfredo Antoniozzi and the regional councilors Luciana De Francesco, Katya Gentile, Pierluigi Caputo, Pietro Molinaro, Sabrina Mannarino, Giuseppe Graziano and Pasqualina Straface. «We were the first to encourage a comparison between those in favor and those against – said Vincenzo Campanella, coordinator of the Movement – but we have always claimed our membership in the single city, with the committee chaired by Scavelli. The TAR’s decision allows us to go to the referendum and give the citizens the say and for us the single city is a great opportunity for growth for the territory and a new dimension of development for the entire province of Cosenza”.
And support for the creation of the large municipality of the urban area also comes from the exponents of the Italian Left, Giorgio Curcio and Maria Pia Funaro. Even the three “autonomous” councilors of the center-left at Palazzo dei Bruzi, Gianfranco Tinto, Francesco Graziadio and Aldo Trecroci, participate in the debate.
