Two great exes, and not only that, to send a signal: in Messina there is also Controcorrente, the political movement created by the regional deputy Ismaele La Vardera, former South calls North with whom he was elected to the Ars in 2022, and to which Vincenzo La Cava, former president of Arismè, appointed, at the time, by Cateno De Luca, officially joined. There were quite a few people present yesterday afternoon at the Royal hotel, where alongside La Vardera and La Cava (whose brother, Alessandro, is now a board member of Arismè itself) there were also the lawyers Massimo Fiumara and Fortunato Strangi, the former municipal councilor Pietro Cacace (he was at the municipality at the time of Francantonio Genovese as mayor), Marcello Parnasso and Loredana Polizzi. An evening during which Massimo De Pasquale and former long-term councilor Mario Biancuzzo also spoke. «The movement – said La Vardera – is officially present throughout Sicily, today’s membership confirms that Controcorrente is a consolidated reality also in Messina. We will certainly be present in the municipal elections, also considering presenting our candidate for mayor. This city will play a fundamental role in building the regional movement.” La Cava said he was happy to join «a disruptive movement that has demonstrated not only that it denounces, but that it proposes and dreams of a different Sicily. For 48 hours I have been inundated with calls from important people in the city asking me to join, we will soon open an office and lead important battles.” (seb.casp.)
