The analyses carried out by Arpacal yesterday, August 15, and transmitted today to the Municipality of Vibo Valentia, have certified that the parameters have returned to normal.
In particular, the samples were taken from four points: shallow mouth of the Sant’Anna stream, sea water of the Sant’Anna stream; and then sea water on the right and left: at the height of a B&B hotel and at the height of a lido.
Enterococci and Escherichia coli were found to have values within the so-called “confidence interval”, this allowed the bathing ban to be reduced on the right side of the Sant’Anna mouth: from 300 to 100 meters, the same value as always, therefore, in the presence of river mouths and streams. On the left there is no ban. All the water coming out of the Silica purifier was, therefore, perfectly purified, while the excess wastewater was collected in the Porto Salvo purifier, as ordered by the mayor Enzo Romeowhose specific contingent and urgent ordinance has evidently produced the results hoped for by the administration and all citizens. The water that is flowing and flowing into the sea at this moment is purified water, odorless and colorless.
“We know well, as do the citizens – comments Mayor Romeo – that this Sant’Anna problem has been dragging on for years, and I reiterate what I said previously: in this phase it is essential to tackle the emergency with all the weapons at our disposal, and that is what we are doing; but the goal we have set ourselves, as soon as this phase is over, is to definitively resolve this problem. And that is what we will do”.
