As the summer season is approached, the Carabinieri Company of Vibo Valentia has started a specific campaign against the theft of cars. Hateful crime that focuses more in coastal locations.
In this context, the carabinieri of the Pizzo station, yesterday, concluded an investigative activity that led to the referral of a 43 -year -old freedom, residing in Rosarno and with police records, held responsible – in the state of the documents and without prejudice to the subsequent assessments on the merits – of the attempted theft of two cars.
In particular, the facts subject to investigation date back to 9 May, when in the municipality of Pizzo (VV), and in particular on the central via Nazionale, Two distinct theft attempts were recorded two Fiat Panda, owned by a 66 -year -old and an 84 -year -old respectively.
The investigation activity, started following the complaints of the victims, was conducted through traditional methods and supported by objective findings provided by the images of different video surveillance cameras in the area, which allowed to identify the head of the attempted theft against which the referral to the competent judicial authority was triggered. In particular, the man was noticed approaching the cars selected for the blow, after hooding and even having changed his clothing in an attempt to evade any research by the police forces. To make the criminal desist from his intent was probably a certain difficulty in setting cars and the presence of nearby people in motion.
The suspect is currently subjected to preliminary investigations and enjoys the guarantees provided for by the system, including the presumption of innocence.
