The Metropolitan City of Messina continues relentlessly in the safety work of the provincial road network, hardly hit by the weather events of last February. In these hours, the technicians of Palazzo dei Leoni have completed the removal of the debris present along the provincial road 52 of Calvaruso, in the stretch between km 1+800 and km 2+500, allowing the restoration of the full travel of the artery, with the consequent revocation of the alternating one -way and the speed limit of 30 km/h.
Therefore, the important link between the Municipality of Villafranca Tirrena and the hilly hamlet of Calvaruso, is now totally passable in safety. This intervention is added to the numerous others that the metropolitan city of Messina is carrying out to restore the full functionality of the provincial road network, guaranteeing the safety of citizens.
“We are working to restore the safety conditions along the provincial roads that have reported damage from the flood of the early February – said the Metropolitan Mayor Federico Basile – in order to normalize the road connections with the municipalities of the hilly and mountain areas of our territory. The complete opening of the provincial road of Calvaruso allows the communities of the area to return to fully use the important way”.
