At least three people were injured in the serious road accident that occurred late this afternoon along State Road 283 delle Terme, in the area of San Marco Argentano, not far from the point where, a few weeks ago, a young man from Cosenza lost his life.
According to initial information, three cars were involved in a violent head-on collision which occurred near a former restaurant in the area, now used as a reception center for migrants. The force of the impact was such that it required the immediate intervention of the Carabinieri of the Compagnia di San Marco Argentano, who secured the area and temporarily blocked traffic to allow rescue operations.
Several 118 ambulances also intervened on site, providing initial treatment to the injured before urgently transferring them to Cosenza hospital for further checks. According to what we learn, some people have suffered medium severity trauma.
The reconstruction of the accident is now entrusted to the military, who are collecting testimonies and verifying the causes of the clash to clarify the exact dynamics of what happened.
