Group H of Serie B men’s volleyball – made up of 3 Calabrian teams (Raffaele Lamezia, Tuna Callipo and Bisignano) and 9 Sicilian (Ciclope Volley Bronte, Paomar Solarino, Letojanni, Aquila Bronte, Gupe, Papiro Fiumefreddo, Palermo, Sciacca, Volley Valley) – takes to the field with a new spirit and a common path undertaken by the companies which is producing important results.
For three days, on the Calabrian and Sicilian fields, “the third half of volleyball” has been taking place on the basis of the great results obtained in rugby. The promoter of the initiative is Francesco Strangistop manager of Raffaele Lamezia. “I thought it was necessary to consolidate an extraordinary aspect of volleyball, which is, in an absolute sense, a sport that unites and manages to create important relationships. Thanks to the third half we are able to combine values and opportunities. Once the match is over, we think about having a chat, talking about the championship, laughing and enjoying a good pizza.” The feedback was immediate. Thanks to the creation of an online group, initiatives are born week by week. No obligation, but rather a great desire to be able to leave a mark in a truly complicated historical sporting moment and create meeting points. The third half also becomes an opportunity to exchange typical local products, but also to be able to immortalize the two teams at the end of the match in a collective photo. Winners and losers, together, in a shot that certifies the power of sport.
In short, Calabria-Sicily, in full autonomy, are also following up, without wanting to, a federal path undertaken in recent months which led to the Southern Super Cup, which was also won by the newly promoted Volley Valley.
