European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will take part in a call today with Volodymyr Zelensky, Donald Trump and other EU leaders. This was reported by a spokeswoman for the community executive. The phone call comes on the eve of the scheduled meeting at Mar-a-Lago. Zelensky, in fact, announced that tomorrow he will meet with Trump at the tycoon’s estate in Florida to continue negotiations on the agreement with Russia.

The starting point is the latest round of talks between the United States and Ukraine which produced a 20-point plan, which was sent to Moscow.

Meanwhile, a massive Russian raid hit the Ukrainian capital during the night. Seven districts of Kiev suffered damage. In particular, according to Ukrainian sources, a dormitory of one of the universities in the Solomyansky district was hit. In the Darnytsky district, a 24-story residential building was hit. Private houses are burning.

A 47-year-old woman was killed, Kiev regional governor Mykola Kalashnyk said. There are around twenty injured. Russian drone and missile bombing has knocked out heat and electricity for hundreds of thousands of people, according to Ukrainian authorities.

In Darnytskyi district, rescuers evacuated 10 people from a retirement home hit by the attack. Emergency services are working at the scene. In the Holosiivskyi district a fire broke out at a gas station. In Obolonsky, debris fell on a holiday home cooperative. Energy infrastructures were mainly affected. Several areas of the capital remained in darkness.

Warsaw lets jets take off and closes two airports

Poland scrambled its jets and temporarily closed two airports in response to Russian attacks on Ukraine overnight. Sky News reports it. The Polish Air Navigation Services Agency issued only a brief statement to confirm that two airports, Rzeszow and Lublin, were temporarily closed.
