US President Donald Trump’s envoy, Steve Witkoff, will be received by Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow tomorrow afternoon to continue discussions on the US plan to end the conflict in Ukraine. The Kremlin confirmed this.
“The meeting with Witkoff is scheduled for tomorrow,” Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said during the daily press briefing. Peskov specified that the meeting will be held in the afternoon. Yesterday Witkoff, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner hosted a Ukrainian delegation in Florida. Both sides described the talks as “productive”. The US president then said he saw “possibilities” for an agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
Kremlin: “For successful negotiations, we don’t argue in the media”
Russia is “interested in the success” of the peace negotiations for Ukraine, and for this reason does not intend to conduct “any discussions through the media”. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said this on the eve of a meeting in Moscow between President Vladimir Putin and the American envoy Steve Witkoff.
“We have already said that for the success of the process, and we are interested in its success, we do not intend to conduct it in megaphone mode, and we do not intend to conduct any discussion through the media,” said Peskov, quoted by the Interfax agency, responding in particular to a question on what is foreseen in the ‘Trump plan’ for the use of Russian capital frozen in the West.
