A worker was injured at work today in Praia a Mare, in the Cosentino area, after falling into a rainwater collection channel while he was busy cleaning the greenery. The accident occurred this morning near Via Padula and the city seafront. A colleague noticed what had happened and raised the alarm.
The 118 rescuers arrived on site and, after having verified the man’s condition, alerted the air ambulance, which landed a few minutes later near the site of the accident. After the worker was loaded on board, the aircraft left in the direction of the Cosenza hospital. The injured person was not in danger of dying.
The Carabinieri of the Scalea company and personnel from the labor inspectorate were also on site and started investigations to reconstruct what happened.
