It was a municipal council of a predominantly technical nature that took place yesterday morning in Locri, during which the financial forecast budget for 2026-2028 was approved, with the votes of the majority. The update of the local police regulation, that of the mortuary police and cemetery services – illustrated by the majority group leader Giovanni Puro and on which the opposition councilor Raffaele Sainato voted against – and the scheme of the articles of association and of the statute for the establishment of the Renewable Energy Community (CER) of the Municipality of Locri.
During the works, the mayor Giuseppe Fontana announced that the Commission of the Ministry of Culture expressed a favorable opinion on the construction of the “Onda Ionica” bridge, destined to become a symbol of the future conurbation between Locri and Siderno as part of the new waterfront project, an integral part of the “City of the Sea” vision, one of the strategic objectives of territorial development.
