The great free concerts of the fifth edition continue successfully “You begin to make her love you”the Christmas festival of the Municipality of Catanzaro, supported by the Calabria-Calabria Extraordinary Region as an event of great tourist interest – PAC Calabria Funds 2014-2020 and created with the organizational support of the Politeama Foundation. After the performances of Amalia Grèand of Sergio Caputo and the DJ set of Fabio Nirtalast December 23rd the Concert Hall of Palazzo De Nobili, headquarters of the municipal administration of Catanzaro, was the setting for the double set of “Jazz for two”, the duo formed by Luca Filastro (piano and vocals) and Arabella Rustico (double bass and voice). Filastro, pianist and arranger originally from Amaroni, was welcomed by the warmth of his audience, at the height of his extensive concert activity all over the world which sees him engaged in performances as a solo piano soloist, with his trio and with his quartet ; but also in larger ensembles such as the “Luca Filastro Orchestra” of which he is arranger and director. The show staged in Catanzaro together with the young and talented musician Arabella, intense, energetic and unexpected, gave the audience an overwhelming experience during the two performances.
You begin to make her love you continues this evening at 7pm at the Casalinuovo auditorium where the Avion Travel concert is scheduled. The Little Orchestra Avion Travelborn in Caserta in 1980 and which over the years has crossed the sound worlds of rock, pop and new wave with forays into the cinematographic hemisphere, theater and Italian musical tradition, will present itself in Catanzaro with the new lineup composed of Peppe Servillo ( vocals), Peppe D’Argenzio (sax), Flavio D’Ancona (keyboards), Duilio Galioto (piano and keyboards), Ferruccio Spinetti (double bass) and Mimì Ciaramella (drums).
The poster of the Christmas festival of the Municipality of Catanzaro, entrusted to the artistic direction of Antonio Pascuzzocontinues tomorrow, Friday 27 December, at Villa Margherita where, at 10 pm, the concert of the Patagarri“the first Jazz quintet (“swing and swag”) of the X Factor”. “Born to disturb the public peace of the streets, shine in the clubs and give away music, only on condition that they steal your heart”, the Patagarri took their first steps as street artists before landing on the big stage of the Sky show. The band is made up of Francesco Parazzoli (trumpet and vocals), Jacopo Protti (guitar), Daniele Corradi (guitar), Giovanni Monaco (clarinet and saxophone) and Arturo Monico (trombone and percussion), who are between 20 and 31 years old, they all come from Milan and the surrounding area and are all students, except Giovanni who is a teacher. The band takes inspiration from the sounds of New Orleans and from Italian artists such as Paolo Conte and international artists such as Django Reinhard and Ray Charles, and transforms great classics of Italian music into an electric, “swirling and dancing” gypsy jazz mixed with a hint of rap.
