Crotone saw a draw built with an excellent first half, which they ended with the lead, fade away in injury time. At the “Massimino” it ends 2-1 for Catania: Zunno puts the rossoblù ahead in the 14th minute, Insigne equalizes in the 24th minute and Coda, on a penalty in the 49th minute, completes the comeback. Greco’s team approaches the match better, plays with courage and after taking the lead they also have the opportunity to extend. In the 33rd minute Musso arrives in front of Dini, then Di Gennaro saves on the line. Crotone keeps their aggression high and for long stretches prevents Catania from taking the field. Longo changes the face of the team during the interval by introducing four players and the Rossazzurri pressure increases. Martino saves from Cicerelli and Tanco blocks Lunetta’s shot off the line, while at the other end Veltri wastes a good opportunity. The equalizer comes in the 69th minute: Masciangelo passes Veltri and serves Insigne, who beats Martino. Four minutes later Pedro Rodriguez, caught by Groppelli, misses the new lead from a few steps away. In injury time the episode that decides everything: handball by Tanco detected by Tropiano and penalty converted by Coda. Crotone emerges defeated, but with their heads held high, after a performance in which they had concrete opportunities to direct the match differently against a team built to win the championship.
