The Court of Appeal of Reggio Calabria has reduced the convictions for nine people arising from the ‘Mandimo’ Jonico ‘investigationinvestigation of 2017 coordinated by the District Anti -Mafia Prosecutor of Reggio Calabria, who had defined the hierarchies and roles of the alleged members of 23 ‘families of’ Ndrangheà operating in the territory of Locride, leading to the arrest of 168 people. For all the suspects, in various capacities, the Prosecutor had indicated the alleged crimes of mafia association, illegal possession of ammunition and common scrub and war weapons made illegal immigrants, auction disturbance, illegal competition with violence and threat, fictitious header of goods, recycling, scam and aggravated fraud for the achievement of public disbursements and numerous other collected crimes, with the group mafia.
The Court of Appeal – President, safe, in Latter, Iazzetti and Berardi – had been entrusted by the second section of the Court of Cassation in June 2023 to pronounce on the postponement for a new exam, following the appeals of the defenders. In his ruling today, the first section of the Court of Appeal of Reggio Calabria, significantly reforming the previous sentence issued by another section of the Court of Reggio, has significantly reformed the extent of the penalties towards Domenico Antonio Moio, from twenty to six years; Alberto Latella, from twenty years to ten years and four months; ria; Candeloro Lia, from fourteen years to seven years; Giuseppe Morabito, from sixteen to ten years; Francesco Pangallo, from eleven years to eight years; Vincenzo Pedullà, from sixteen to nine years and eight months; Rocco perre, for twenty years, at nine and four months; Stefano Romeo, Romeo Stefano, for fourteen years, at six years and eight months; Domenico Zucco, for sixteen, at seven and two months.
