For Sinner it is the fifth Slam of his career: in his palmares, in addition to last year’s triumph in the London Major, two Australian Opens (2024 and 2025) and one US Open

Under the eyes of Luciano Buonfiglio, president of CONI, and Andrea Abodi, minister for Sport and youth, with an encore granted to the All England Club Sinner – 30 ATP titles – becomes the tenth tennis player in the Open Era to win two Wimbledons in a row after Rod Laver (1968-69), John Newcombe (1970-71), Bjorn Borg (1976-80), John McEnroe (1983-84), Boris Becker (1985-86), Pete Sampras (1993-95, 1997-2000), Roger Federer (2003-07), Novak Djokovic (2014-15, 2018-22) and Carlos Alcaraz (2023-24).

Furthermore, with the victory over Zverev, Sinner reaches 100 in Grand Slam tournaments: he is the eighth active tennis player to reach this milestone after Djokovic, Stan Wawrinka, Marin Cilic, Zverev, Gael Monfils, Kei Nishikori and Grigor Dimitrov. In the ATP rankings the South Tyrolean rises to 13,450 points and extends to almost +5000 on Zverev, who grabs second position from Alcaraz, third at 8,160, and climbs to 8,480 points. In the Race to the ATP Finals in Turin, for which both Sinner and Zverev are already arithmetically qualified, the Italian remains in command with 7,950 points, followed by the German with 6,540 points. Alcaraz third at 3,650 ahead of Flavio Cobolli, fourth at 3,020.

Sinner: “Happy with the victory, but also with my level”

“Congratulations to Sasha (Zverev, ed.), today’s match was a very hard-fought match and I’m sure that sooner or later he will win this tournament. We both started by serving very well, but we were ready for anything with my team. I’m happy with the victory, but I’m also happy with the level I showed.” Thus Jannik Sinner, during the awards ceremony, after his success in the Wimbledon final over Alexander Zverev. “There is no better place to play tennis and it was an honor to take the court here. Every day at Wimbledon is special and it has been a wonderful two weeks. On this court the tennis players experience the best possible sensations”, adds the South Tyrolean.

Zverev: Jannik proved that he is the best

«Congratulations to Jannik, he has shown once again why he is the best in the world and sharing the Central with him was an honor. Thanks to my team, we had two good months even if we lost this final. I had never reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon and for the first time I believe I can win this tournament.” Thus Alexander Zverev, during the awards ceremony, after his defeat in the Wimbledon final against Jannik Sinner. «It was wonderful to play on Centrale and every match is special here. It’s a huge honor to play in front of this crowd,” concludes Zverev.

Zangrillo, Sinner’s feat enters the history of sport

«There was a time when even just a Wimbledon final for an Italian seemed like a heroic undertaking. Today we find ourselves applauding Jannik Sinner’s second consecutive victory on the most prestigious grass in the world. If this seems almost natural to us today, it is because an extraordinary champion was able to push the limit of what we believed possible even higher. Sinner’s is a feat destined to enter the history of Italian sport, but it is also the symbol of the extraordinary growth of our entire tennis movement.” This was underlined in a note by the Minister for Public Administration Paolo Zangrillo, who after recalling the years of work of an entire team, noted how “today Italy is no longer a surprise in world tennis, it is a point of reference”. «I extend my most sincere congratulations to Jannik. With his talent, his discipline and his humility he continues to demonstrate that the greatest goals are achieved day after day, without ever ceasing to improve. This victory belongs to him, but it is also the pride of an entire nation which, once again – concludes the minister – sees the tricolor waving on the roof of Wimbledon”.
