Catanzaro closes the pre-season with a convincing 3-0 victory over Giugliano (Serie C) in the last friendly test played in Rovato. Giorgio Gorgone’s team dominated the match and broke the deadlock at the end of the first half thanks to a splendid free kick from Simone Pafundi. In the second half Pittarello doubled his lead, scoring with a precise right-footed shot, and the final 3-0 scored by the young Reita. The next appointment for Catanzaro will be the Italian Cup match against Sudtirol scheduled for August. Then the championship starts on August 21st away from home against Vicenza.

Italian Cup at Ceravolo

The US Catanzaro match scheduled for next August 15th will be played regularly within the friendly walls of the “Nicola Ceravolo” stadium. The official confirmation arrived on the sidelines of the meeting of the Provincial Commission for the Supervision of Public Entertainment Venues, which gave a favorable opinion at the end of the technical inspections. A result that is anything but obvious, the result of an important organizational and operational effort promoted by the Municipal Administration led by Mayor Nicola Fiorita. The additional works relating to access and safety of the facility, initially requested by 10 August, were in fact concluded five days early, promptly responding to the request made by the Police Headquarters to guarantee the event could be held in complete safety. A dutiful thanks goes to the municipal technical offices for the dedication shown, to the contractor who worked tirelessly in this sultry August. Finally, special thanks go to the public security authorities – Prefecture, Police Headquarters and all the members of the Provincial Commission – for the fruitful collaboration and institutional sensitivity that characterized the achievement of a result long awaited by the citizens. On August 15th the “Ceravolo” will be ready to welcome the Giallorossi fans
