These are the first steps of the new Metropolitan Council of Messina. The inaugural session was held at Palazzo dei Leoni, chaired by the metropolitan mayor Federico Basile, which marked the start of the new mandate of the assembly elected last 27 July, called to represent the Municipalities and to define the directions on the main issues of supra-municipal interest.
Thirteen of the fourteen proclaimed elected councilors took part in the first meeting (Antonino Foti Cuzzola absent for personal reasons), in the presence of the general secretary of the metropolitan city, Rossana Carrubba, who addressed a brief greeting to the assembly. A Council that combines continuity and renewal: five confirmed directors – Giuseppe Crisafulli, Flavio Santoro, Daniela Zirilli, Antonino Russo and Libero Gioveni – and nine new entries, an expression of the different municipal realities of the territory.
