The season of correspondence opened by Cosenza football since Rita Scalise officially took over the club has not brought any luck. In recent weeks the rossoblù have been making one bad impression after another. But then luck, to be honest, has little to do with it. Because Lady Luck has always walked alongside the bold, not the naive. Yes, because depriving the experience and quality of a team that last year, by hook or by crook, reached the playoffs, drawing heavily on the “young hopefuls” category, is more than a gamble: it means, in fact, being naive (to be kind).
The letter released by the rossoblù club, in the afternoon following the hand received at Giugliano’s house, is yet another demonstration that those who lead Cosenza are not clear where they stand. Talking about “objective difficulties that do not depend on our will” is aimed at reducing the rossoblù’s problems to back and forth in the stadium. According to the second letter released by return post, therefore, Cosenza’s negative start in the championship is due to the exile, the impossibility of training in a structure worthy of the name. But those who have followed the team for over a decade know well that, in the Guarascio management, the Cosenza players were often forced to shuttle from one facility to another city during the week (how can we forget the work sessions carried out on a pitch and… the shower in another facility, even in winter?). But if we want to take for granted the discomfort highlighted by society, it is offensive towards the reader to reduce everything to the problem of the field. It is also offensive to imply that everything will be done to save professionalism. Cosenza, as demonstrated by the first matches (1 point out of 15 available, second worst defense and third worst attack in the championship) and in particular yesterday’s sensational harakiri against Giugliano, is not an equipped team. And coach Coppitelli also noticed it, having rang the alarm bell in recent days after the optimism of someone starting a new adventure and still needing to acclimatise. Nothing against him or against the willing young people who wear the rossoblù shirt, but fighting to save the category, in these conditions, is an impossible mission, especially since the January transfer window is three and a half months away.
As for the ending of the company’s letter addressed to the people of Cosenza, one must remain petrified: potential buyers are invited to come forward to take over the company. Who, with a team totally changed compared to last season (almost completely decapitalized) and over 100 pre-market days to deal with in a depressed environment and with a group of guys, would take on this club? Well, only a Martian could decide to take the field under certain conditions. But anyone with a modicum of salt in their head would steer clear. And he would have all the reasons in the world.

Giugliano’s defeat has left a painful wound throughout the city’s sporting environment, and within our society, which must in any case be overcome as soon as possible. The ranking after a few days shows a team with obvious difficulties, and no one wants to hide this. But these are objective difficulties which do not depend on our will, but are consequences known to all. The team cannot play matches on its own pitch and even has difficulty training.
A situation that has no equal in any city in Italy at a professional level. A level, it is fair to say straight away, that this company wants to maintain and will do everything to save the category. Ours is a young team in which we believe and which needs support, especially in difficult moments like the one we are trying to face.

Precisely because we believe in the sporting value of Cosenza football, while we reiterate our firm intention to maintain the C series, we once again renew our willingness to sell the team to anyone who intends to work for the good of the rossoblù colours.
Today playing football at certain levels is not easy, the economic conjecture is certainly not favorable and it is necessary to operate with due clarity. We have acknowledged, without any polemical streak, that the attempt to set up a so-called “second team” in Cosenza has had no success because we are the first to understand the difficulties we are facing. For this reason, in confirming our desire to save professionalism in Cosenza, we reiterate that anyone interested in taking over the team should come forward.
