Allowing people to leave work at 64 instead of 67: this is the objective reiterated by Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Matteo Salvini during a speech in Radio 24. «The priority for the League for some time, and we have finally arrived there, is to overcome the Fornero law and therefore give back three years of life to those who choose to retire at 64 compared to 67», he declared.

Estimates of costs and coverage

Salvini said he was confident of being able to realize a promise made by the party in recent years: «I am confident in being able to maintain a commitment that the League made several years ago and in the previous budget laws, due to other problems, we were unable to bring home». The deputy prime minister explained that the economic evaluations are still underway: «The Mef and the INPS are estimating the cost, there will certainly be the necessary coverage to allow those who have paid contributions to get at least their contributions back». The declarations do not specify the contribution requirements, the methods of calculating the allowance or the timing of application of the proposed intervention.

In the maneuver fund of almost 1 billion for exit flexibility

An ad hoc fund, worth just under a billion, to be used with a subsequent provision in January: this would be, according to what we learn from various sources, the agreement reached in the majority to address the issue of exit flexibility for pensions. The measure, therefore, would limit itself to allocating resources for 2027, without going into detail about the declination of the measure.
