Thousands of people march in memory of the laborers killed in the fire trap set by two compatriots on Monday at a service station in Amendolara. That kilometer 395 of the Jonica state road will remain sadly known forever. Before the start of the demonstration, the general secretary of the CGIL, Maurizio Landini, and that of the Flai CGIL, Giovanni Mininni, laid two wreaths of flowers at the service station. Also present were the national secretary Pino Gesmundo and the general secretary of Calabria Gianfranco Trotta, together with Elly Schlein, who leads the PD delegation and the representatives of the 5 Star Movement. In addition to the flags of these two parties and the various acronyms attributable to the CGIL, among others, delegations from Rifondazione Comunista, Anpi and Legambiente are present. The procession moves orderly chanting slogans for safety and legality in the workplace. “Enough deaths and clandestinity,” say the demonstrators.
