ASC Calabria reaches a milestone of absolute importance, establishing itself as the first Sports Committee of the Calabria Region and ASC Reggio Calabria as the first committee of the city of Reggio Calabria.
A result certified by the official data of the national sports registers as of 31 December 2025, which register 621 clubs of which 410 in the province of Reggio Calabria alone, for a total of 1500 ASC affiliated associations in Calabria.
A record that does not represent a point of arrival, but the outcome of a path built over time, based on listening to the needs of the associations, on the constant presence in the territory and on concrete and professional support for sports and training entities. In less than twelve years, ASC Reggio Calabria and then ASC Calabria were able to overcome historic sports committees, becoming a point of reference for the entire Calabrian sports system. The growth of ASC is based on an organizational model that puts the associations at the centre, accompanying them in daily management, regulatory compliance and the development of sporting, training and social activities. A collective effort that involved managers, technical staff, operational secretariat, referees, volunteers and sector managers, each with an essential role in building a solid and credible system.
The Regional President of ASC Calabria, Antonio Eraclini, underlines the collective value of the result achieved: “This goal is the fruit of a shared journey. In just a few years the ASC family has expanded thanks to the contribution of many people who have brought skills, ideas and passion. It is the team that wins, and it is thanks to this common work that today we can talk about such a significant result for Calabrian sport”.
Particular recognition goes to the technical staff and the operational secretariat, who guarantee timely support to the associations on a daily basis, as well as to the managers of the sports and training sectors, true pillars of activity in the area.
An important contribution was also given by Renato Raffa, a central figure in the growth path of the Committee, who highlights the aggregative value of the goal achieved: “This result belongs to the entire sporting community: athletes, clubs, families, federations and the public. It is the demonstration that professionalism, commitment and the ability to work as a team can have a concrete impact on the development of sport and the social fabric of the territory”.
Over the years, ASC Reggio Calabria and ASC Calabria have promoted events, demonstrations and training courses capable of involving thousands of participants, contributing to the cultural and sporting growth of the area.
Initiatives such as the Piccole Pesti ASC football championships, the Swell event which this year reaches its tenth edition, the Bronzes between Sport and Culture and the Grand Awards Gala have represented moments of synthesis of constant work, oriented towards innovation and anticipating the needs of the sporting world. The list of sporting, social and/or training activities to include would be too long also because it touches all sectors of the sporting world, from the Reggio in Danza International Competition (now in its second edition) which welcomed technicians, choreographers and personalities from the world of world dance to the countless Championships in Basketball, Volleyball, Padel or the different football categories (5-a-side, 8-a-side, 11-a-side, Interprofessional, etc.) with a dizzying number of participants, from the Tour of Salute 2023 at the Popup Sport Zone to promote well-being and the diffusion of sports practice aimed at safeguarding health and social inclusion, from Vivi Sbarre during the Christmas period to the ASC Carnival dedicated not only to the ASC affiliated associations, which are regularly the absolute protagonists of these events, but oriented towards the well-being and conviviality of the Community.
They are just an example of the activities that have allowed the achievement of this result, already evident in recent years, and which today finds official confirmation of the role of ASC as a reliable interlocutor for sports associations and institutions. A model that continues to evolve, maintaining listening, competence and closeness to affiliated entities as a cornerstone.
ASC Calabria thus writes an important page in Calabrian sporting history, confirming that working together, starting from the needs of the associations, is the key to building lasting and valuable results.
