Jannik Sinner beats Ben Shelton in the match of the last day of the “Borg” group of the ATP Singles Finals, staged in Turin, at the Inalpi Arena. 6-3 7-6 (3), in an hour and 34 minutes of play, the score in favor of the world number 2, who completes the group stage without defeats and without sets lost in the three matches played with Felix Auger-Aliassime (7-5 6-1), Alexander Zverev (6-4 6-3) and the American left-hander. For the blue of the world comes the 29th consecutive victory at indoor level, a streak opened after the final of the 2023 ATP Finals, lost against Novak Djokovic. It is the South Tyrolean’s eighth success in a row against Shelton, who beat the 24-year-old from San Candido only in their first match (at the Masters 1000 in Shanghai in 2023). In the semi-final Sinner will face Alex de Minaur. It will be the thirteenth match against the Australian, who has never beaten the Italian tennis player in his career. The head-to-head scores are 12-0 in favor of the South Tyrolean, who defeated the 26-year-old from Sydney in the three previous matches in 2025 (ATP 500 Vienna, ATP 500 Beijing and at the Australian Open). Seven matches were played indoors with de Minaur, who only managed to take a set from Sinner in the quarter-finals of the ATP 250 in Sofia in 2020.
