The carabinieri of the Compagnia di Sant’Agata di Militello have implemented an order for the application of the personal precautionary measure of house arrest, with the application of the electronic bracelet, issued by the investigating judge of Patti upon request of the local Prosecutor’s Office, against three subjects: father and two sons, aged 64, 39 and 34, all convicted felons and resident in the municipality of Tortorici. They are Salvatore Destro Pastizzaro Salvatore and his sons Sebastiano and Davis.
The three are held responsible, in various capacities, for the crimes of attempted extortion and detention for the purpose of drug dealing, in collaboration with each other, committed between the months of November 2024 and February 2025.
The investigative activity, conducted by the Carabinieri of the Operational Section of the Sant’Agata di Militello Company and the Tortorici Station, under the coordination of the Patti Prosecutor’s Office, began following the complaint filed in November 2024 by two landowners from Tortorici. The victims had reported that they had been subjected to repeated threats and physical and verbal attacks by the suspects, who had recently purchased land bordering that of the complainants.
The investigations revealed that the intimidating conduct carried out by the three men was aimed at obtaining, without any legitimate title, the free transfer of portions of land useful for widening a local road for public use that had existed for almost a century.
The technical activities, the observation services, the documentary acquisitions and the testimonies collected by the soldiers of the Corps have made it possible to collect numerous and concordant elements of confirmation of the declarations of the offended people, who, due to continuous pressure and fear of further retaliation, had been forced to abandon their properties.
During the investigations, the Carabinieri also ascertained that the two sons, already known to the police due to specific precedents, had also been involved in drug trafficking activities.
>In February 2025, the military documented their movement in the province of Catania, where the two had purchased a large quantity of drugs. Thanks to a targeted territorial control device, set up by the Carabinieri, the suspects’ car was intercepted and blocked after a short chase, during which one of the brothers attempted to escape from the police.
The search of the vehicle made it possible to find and seize approximately 500 grams of cocaine and 7 grams of marijuana, intended for trafficking in the Nebrodi area.
The 39-year-old was therefore arrested in flagrante delicto and, following the validation hearing, subjected to house arrest; the 34-year-old brother, however, was reached today by the same precautionary measure.
The serious indications of guilt collected by the Carabinieri during the investigation were fully shared by the investigating judge of the Court of Patti, who issued the order today carried out by the military personnel against the three suspects.
