The state police arrested a 44-year-old man for failure to comply with the provisions related to the prevention measure of special public security surveillance, with the obligation to stay in a municipality other than the one in which he was found.
The arrest took place during an ordinary territorial control activity carried out by the police officers of the Gioia Tauro Public Security Police Station. The officers, engaged in a patrol service in the Rosarno area, stopped a car with two people on board, one of whom was already known to the police due to numerous criminal records and is currently subjected to special surveillance.
During the control phases, the 44-year-old attempted to evade identification, refusing to show the precept card and falsely declaring that he was not the recipient of the prevention measure.
Subsequent investigations, however, made it possible to verify his real identity and to establish that he was outside the municipality of residence without any authorization. For this reason, the man was arrested for violating the requirements imposed by special surveillance. At the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Palmi, the 44-year-old was placed under house arrest awaiting the validation and subsequent celebration of the very direct rite.
