The “Armando Lucifero” Municipal Library of Crotone is among the beneficiaries of the Book Publishing Fund, established by the Ministry of Culture.

The library was awarded a total contribution of 12,669.58 euros, which will be entirely allocated to the purchase of new books, including in digital format.

The new resources will make it possible to expand the already rich book heritage with up-to-date and quality works, selected in collaboration with local bookshops, thus enhancing the local book supply chain.

Part of the budget can also be used for the purchase of digital titles with the necessary licenses for library lending.

“This measure allows us to continue investing in a place that is much more than a reading space: our library is a living cultural hub, a place of meeting and training. Each new volume that becomes part of our collection is an additional step in favor of the cultural growth of the city. We want to invite the city to experience the library as an open and welcoming place, where we can discover stories, discuss and spend quality time” declares the Councilor for Culture Nicola Corigliano

And in conjunction with this good news, today the “Author’s Christmas” exhibition officially opens, promoted by the Department of Culture and the Municipal Library.

The program includes meetings, readings, presentations and moments dedicated to promoting the book during the Christmas period.

“It is an initiative that enhances the daily work we do in the library and which focuses on reading as an element of community” adds councilor Corigliano
