Stop the bridge over the Strait of Messina and allocate resources to the prevention of hydrogeological instability and to a housing plan. This is the commitment announced by Democratic Party secretary Elly Schlein during the broadcast Clean squareon La7, looking at the next elections. «When we win the next elections we will already have 13 billion to use, because we will stop that useless and harmful project which is the Bridge over the Strait of Messina and we will make a great prevention plan for hydrogeological instability and another great plan for housing, which has been missing since Fanfani’s time», he declared.

«An alliance for the things we want to do together»

Schlein then raised the prospect of a united progressive field, built around a shared agenda. «If we have won in recent years it is because we have held together not from acronym to acronym, from leader to leader, but on an idea of the country». For the dem leader, the administrative experiences already represent a field of collaboration between the different political forces: «We will not build an alliance against our adversaries, but for the things we want to do together and that we are already doing together, because the news is that in the regions and cities we are already governed together by the moderates, the 5 Stars, the left, the greens…».

The call to the divisions of 2022

«The game is open», insisted Schlein, claiming the objective of winning with a progressive alliance «which finally after 20 years has the possibility of going united in these elections and beating the right to change the lives of Italians for the better». A path which, in the intentions of the secretary of the Democratic Party, will have to avoid the fragmentation of the previous political session: “We will never again do the right the favor of dividing us as happened in 2022”.
